Today was a nice rest day.
We stayed up late with the intention of sleeping in so we would be awake for tonight's party. I woke up at 8:00 fighting the sun that was shining through the window. So we woke up and I walked to the downtown hotel for some breakfast. When I came back I gathered some dirty clothes for a laundry run. Kevin decided to come with me and we did the laundry at an RV park down the road. While there, an older woman locked the keys in her car. I said I would attempt to get the door open. In about 5 mins I had her doors unlocked. She gave me a hug and thanked me a million times. Said she will take care of me in town if she sees me tonight, we'll see. We returned back to the cabin and decided to go for a ride to the top of a mountain called Midnight Dome. We rode a bad, curvy road to reach the top. Once on top we had a great view of Dawson City and the rivers. The Klondike River and the Yukon meet here and the waters are two different colors. You can see in one of the pictures the two shades of water color. After talking to a few people about our trip, we headed back down the hill and back into town for a late lunch.
Only a couple of hours until the steak dinner banquet where all kinds of crazy stuff is bound to happen. This town is hopping with bikes and a ton of great people from all over the country. I look forward to meeting many more folks tonight.
