Another long day in the saddle. We left Memphis around 9am after a very nice breakfast with Grandma Graves, Josh's Grandmother. Along with his Brother and Step-Grandfather. She had made eggs, biscuits with gravy, sausage and OJ. A nice start to a long day.

I need to say this one more time, Josh Graves and his family are some of the nicest people I have spent time with in a very long time. As Eric and I are complete strangers from the Internet, he put us up in his house while he and his wife are raising their three month old baby. Very friendly folks. Good people all around.

The ride here to Oklahoma City was long, flat, straight, and a bit windy. As we crossed Arkansas, we stopped in Little Rock, at the BMW dealer to get my oil leak checked. After about 45 minutes of tinkering and waiting, he said he thinks he fixed it and that it was no charge.  So we headed out, grabbed some lunch, and then hit the road for another long haul of about three hundred more miles. When we stopped for our next gas stop I checked to see how the oil situations was going. Still leaking! We phoned Kevin here in OK city, and asked him to bring home a rubber gasket which we think is the culprit.  So after our dinner tonight I will be back in the garage trying to fix the problem once and for all.

I am starting to get a little m ore home sick as I get further away from home. Spending time with other families and being around people I know helps in the transition. My body is  a little sore mostly from sitting in the same position for 7-8 hours. The knees don't get moved enough so they get stiff as well.
Tomorrow should be a hot day as we cross the top of Texas and head into New Mexico to Sleep somewhere near Albuquerque.  First night camping I hope.
More exciting pictures will fallow as soon as the scenery gets a little nicer. So far it's been farms and fields. Thanks for reading.

Day one started with a late start and a couple minor mishaps along the way. We left Atlanta and headed west to a small town west of Memphis called Somerville. The ride here wasn’t too bad as far as first days go. The weather was nice with the occasional threat of a sprinkle shower but no real rain drops. We made two gas stops along the way taking a break for lunch and just stretching the legs out. At time the

weather got warm , but the breeze kept us awake.  I had a minor oil drip that was coming out from the right side of my engine spark plug area. After dinner we we came back to the house and spent a few minutes working on the problem. Hopefully it is just a rubber seal that was put on crooked. I’ll have to drive it a little tomorrow to see if I fixed it.

We stayed with a great family who I met through ADVrider.com, Josh and Cindy Graves Their three month old baby Tommy and Black lab Lucy.  I haven’t met anyone this nice in awhile. They took us out to dinner, paid and let us take showers and sleep in the living room.  Tomorrow we are going with Josh to eat breakfast with his 91 year old grandmother who cooks for his brothers and some guys he works with.

After breakfast we will set sail toward Oklahoma city to meet up with Kevin and become a pack of three.
