We rode down to the Variety Playhouse in Little Five Points last night to see Alton Brown of the Food Network. He was there to do a question-answer discussion and ultimately a signing of his new book. The book is a recount of his latest TV show, Feasting on Asphalt. The series consisted of five guys on BMW motorcycles traveling along the Mississippi river stopping at some small but tasty mom and pop restaurants.  My friend and future Alaska travel mate Bobby Earnhardt worked on the crew, so we ended up with V.I.P. passes.  Alton was very nice to the hundreds of people who came to visit him and get their books signed.  If you have no clue who Alton Brown is check him out here.    www.altonbrown.com
